Another Homage, this time to a very important person in our wine career. Carole Meredith was Steve’s professor at UC Davis and the person who mapped the genetic origin of many grape varietals, including Zinfandel. She is the one who proved that it was not an American grape, but actually Tribadrag from Croatia that then was exported to Puglia, Italy where it is called Primativo. We owe so much to Carole that we thought it fitting that we named our Zin after her. She thinks it’s a hoot!
Medium bodied with notes of cherry, blackberry and classic white pepper along with Italian herbs and a touch of dark chocolate. Acheson Zinfandel is the perfect companion to your winter comfort dishes.
Newer customer of this wine buying opportunity. I so like bringing the bottles back and being given a refill. It reminds me of time spent in French and Italian villages. Anything that reminds me of that is good. We took it home our bike and shared it with our children. They slept well that night.
First purchase of this wine. Not a heavy foothill zinfandel profile. Lighter, fruity, best a bit chilled in these hot summer days. Went well with bbqed steaks and, on another night, a caponata pasta. Would purchase again.
This is my favorite! It’s a nice smooth wine that’s easy on the palate! Will be ordering more soon!
